Journalism: Theory, Practice and Criticism

Journalism: Theory, Practice and Criticism is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal that publishes both theoretical and empirical work on a wide variety of journalism topics. According to the journal, it “contributes to the social, economic, political, cultural and practical understanding of journalism.” Articles about the history of journalism and its current trends are included.

Three articles caught my eye in the current issue:

The news-democracy narrative and the unexpected benefits of limited news consumption: The case of news resisters,” Louise Woodstock

Losing my profession: Age, experience and expertise in the changing newsrooms,” Kaarina Nikunen

Playing a crusader role or just playing by the rules? Role conceptions and role inconsistencies among environmental journalists,” Edson C Tandoc, Jr and Bruno Takahashi
