NYT: "Professor’s Angry Tweets on Gaza Cost Him a Job"

I tend to err on the side of academic freedom. Plus, I'm not convinced that someone's social media vitriol (and yes, a few of his tweets were pretty awful, but most were relatively tame) can predict that person's classroom management.

Thoughts?

  1. This is pretty interesting, Shane. I wonder what the university's reaction would be if the scenario was the other way around. (If the prof was tweeting aggressively about Palestine and Palestine supporters were collecting signatures and openly protesting him)

  2. I just saw this. Sadly, I think we both know how that would turn out.
